To be perfectly honest… I have not been doing many book reviews on here because
1. the books I have been reading are on homosexuality and did not want to divulge that to anyone at the time and
2. I have another blog where I have been leaving my reviews and musings on the whole son issue.
This book I received in the mail on a sunny breezy March afternoon and I immediately dropped my chores and set up a chair out back and read the entire book, in under 3 hours.
Got it from Amazon [they really must take the wish list feature away from me before my hubby goes broke]
It’s hard for me to review a book where there is no right or wrong about it. It’s a story told by the mother of a gay and drug addicted son. What she went through was pure hell and every parent would cringe at having to deal with half the stuff she dealt with.
The surprise twist in the story was she came to believe in God and His Son during her ordeal with her son.
I really really desire to find other parents of gay teens/young adult children.
I would love to have a fellowship group with other mothers. But it is terribly hard to find other parents in this same predicament … it’s not like they are just listed in the phone book, ya know?
We happen to live in the most liberal part of the country for finding christian help for gay teens or their parents.
We happened to find only 1 counselor in our area that would see our son and believed homosexuality was wrong and he was christian. No help for parents.
If, for reason a christian parent of a gay child finds this site, please e-mail me and maybe we can talk.
To quickly finish this up before I run to a critter sitting job, the book was fascinating and well written.
If you have an interest in this kind of book, grab it.
