Musings on……. Leviticus 25:23-24

Lev 25:23 `The land, moreover, shall not be sold permanently, for the land is Mine; for you are but aliens and sojourners with Me. 24 `Thus for every piece of your property, you are to provide for the redemption of the land.

Shall I use this for environmental reasons?

Why or why not?

  1. Not.

    1. To use this passage for environmental reasons, or political reasons or nationalistic reasons is to say “God is on our side”. Wrong focus. To use it to get out of paying your mortgage is stealing. To say God hates styrofoam cups is presumptuous.

    2. The Older Testament is about Christ (concealed). This passage providing for redemption of the land is the Gospel (concealed). Using it to ban styrofoam cups trivializes it

Not that I have anything against styrofoam cups 🙂

    • i like your answer uncle. i saw this scripture on another site talking about how this verse should be used to keep the world eco and clean.
      but its out of context.
