A few days ago I had this phrase running through my head:
This phrase literally refers to something that takes place in the presence of, or before the face of, God. To live coram Deo is to live one’s entire life in the presence of God, under the authority of God, to the glory of God. ~RC Sproul
Everything we do is before the face of God ~ Think about it:
~When we fight with our spouses, when we curse our neighbor or gossip about our friends.
~ When you slip a candy bar or office supplies in your pocket.
~ When you click on just that one website; you know the one.
~ When you masturbate after looking at that website.
~ When you flirt with that co-worker, just a bit too much.
~ When you buy that too expensive car to keep up with ‘The Joneses”
~When you take that first drink when no one is in the room, just to relax.
~ When you get a bit too angry at the kid, for just being a kid.
~ When you blame some else for a mistake you made.
~ When you decide to sleep in on Sunday or not pay a tithe or grumble about the worship service.
~ When you kill that unborn child in your womb because “it was not part of the plan”.
* When you think no one is looking, when no one cares, when no one else gets hurt
Coram Deo ~
God is looking
