Musings on …. Isaiah 32:17-18

15 Until the Spirit  is poured out upon us from on high,

And the wilderness becomes a fertile  field,

And the fertile field is considered as a forest.

16 Then justice will dwell in the wilderness

And righteousness will abide in the fertile field.

17 And the work  of righteousness will be peace,

And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

18 Then my people will live in a peaceful  habitation,

And in secure dwellings and in undisturbed resting  places;

I still strive for that ‘peace that surpasses all understanding’

Phil 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle {spirit} be known to all men. The  Lord is near.  6 Be  anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer  and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the  peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension,  will guard  your hearts and your minds  in Christ Jesus.

But am I supposed to strive for it? How do I get it? Prayer, suppliation, thanksgiving, rejoicing…..

What do you think?

  1. Yes, yes, yes and yes. Don’t forget that God was also expecting them to work together as a community to bring about his desires. So you may want to add that to the list.
    Thanks Des. All seems so easy. In theory. Living in community is what makes it hard!!!
