Musings on.. 1 Peter 5:10

5:10 – [In Context|Original Greek]
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.

What do those 4 words mean? What is the promise here for the sufferers Peter speaks to?

Besides the the wonderful promise of eternal glory w/Christ and God we have:

Perfect  #2675

to render, i.e. to fit, sound, complete

  1. to mend (what has been broken or rent), to repair
    1. to complete
  2. to fit out, equip, put in order, arrange, adjust
    1. to fit or frame for one’s self, prepare
  3. ethically: to strengthen, perfect, complete, make one what he ought to be


Confirm #4741

  1. to make stable, place firmly, set fast, fix
  2. to strengthen, make firm
  3. to render constant, confirm, one’s mind


Strengthen #4599

to make strong, strengthen

  1. of one’s soul


Establish # 2311

  1. to lay the foundation, to found
  2. to make stable, establish


Is this referring to when we are in heaven? Or can this be accomplished now in us?
