Chuck Norris is not only a Noun, but a Verb.

The boy and I are having a Chuck Norris movie marathon these past couple weeks, we really only have time for 1 or 2 movies a week, so its going slow. He has 2 posters on his wall with some of these sayings.

From this site:

If you have five dollars and Chuck Norris has five dollars, Chuck Norris has more money than you.
There is no ‘ctrl’ button on Chuck Norris’s computer. Chuck Norris is always in control.
Apple pays Chuck Norris 99 cents every time he listens to a song.
Chuck Norris can sneeze with his eyes open.
Chuck Norris can eat just one Lay’s potato chip.
Chuck Norris is suing Myspace for taking the name of what he calls everything around you.
Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise.
Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one bird.

When the Boogeyman goes to sleep every night, he checks his closet for Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris doesn’t read books. He stares them down until he gets the information he wants.

There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live.

Outer space exists because it’s afraid to be on the same planet with Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris does not sleep. He waits.

Chuck Norris is currently suing NBC, claiming Law and Order are trademarked names for his left and right legs.

Chuck Norris is the reason why Waldo is hiding.

Chuck Norris counted to infinity – twice.

There is no chin behind Chuck Norris’ beard. There is only another fist.

When Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down.

Chuck Norris is so fast, he can run around the world and punch himself in the back of the head.

Chuck Norris’ hand is the only hand that can beat a Royal Flush.

Chuck Norris can lead a horse to water AND make it drink.

Chuck Norris doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.

Chuck Norris can slam a revolving door.

Chuck Norris does not get frostbite. Chuck Norris bites frost

Remember the Soviet Union? They decided to quit after watching a DeltaForce marathon on Satellite TV.

Contrary to popular belief, America is not a democracy, it is a Chucktatorship.

I used to have such a crush on Chuck in the 80’s.

Enjoy! Kristina

Different Views on Forgiveness of Others

But if you have any first hand knowledge and have advise, please comment, would love to hear from you.

“Please put the attention on the breath.

Have forgiveness in your heart for anything you think you’ve done wrong . Forgive yourself for all the past omissions and commissions. They are long gone. Understand that you were a different person and this one is forgiving that one that you were. Feel that forgiveness filling you and enveloping you with a sense of warmth and ease.

Think of your parents. Forgive them for anything you have ever blamed them for. Understand that they too are different now. Let this forgiveness fill them, surround them, knowing in your heart that this is your most wonderful way of togetherness.

Think of your nearest and dearest people . Forgive them for anything that you think they have done wrong or are doing wrong at this time. Fill them with your forgiveness. Let them feel that you accept them. Let that forgiveness fill them. Realizing that this is your expression of love.

Now think of your friends. Forgive them for anything you have disliked about them. Let your forgiveness reach out to them, so that they can be filled with it, embraced by it.

Think of the people you know, whoever they might be, and forgive them all for whatever it is that you have blamed them for, that you have judged them for, that you have disliked. Let your forgiveness fill their hearts, surround them, envelope them, be your expression of love for them.

Now think of any special person whom you really need to forgive. Towards whom you still have resentment, rejection, dislike. Forgive him or her fully. Remember that everyone has dukkha. Let this forgiveness come from your heart. Reach out to that person, complete and total.

Musings on…… The Cure for Anxiety

Matthew 6

25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

 Philippians 4

4Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

19And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

 Romans 8

28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

What Do Hormones, Pigs, Puppies, Rain and Credit have in Common?

Why, me, of course, silly! 😉

Monday I took my son went in to Dr. to see about his rapid heart rate that happens sometimes.

When I think of EKG I think of several hours of being hooked up to electrodes and running thru a series of exercise tests.

At the office, it took more time to set up the machine than it did to test his 15 year old heart.

Looks good the Doctor says, could just be a ‘hormonal’ thing. Dizziness when standing up and heart fluctuations are par for the course.

If it keeps happening we need get a pulse and keep track of times and duration.

I wish my mother’s day present of a new camera phone was in my hand, to see him on the little exam table with his size 12 boats hanging off the end and hooked up to 8 or 10 different ‘power lines’ was funny and scary at the same time.

The fetal pig dissection is on at the school and no one, teacher or principal, had the decency to e-mail me about my little Word document. Not that I deserve an answer about whether or not they would allow the kids to look at it. But nothing. From a christian school. hmph.

I have a meeting with the same christian school this summer (elementary dept.) about setting up a Tutor with Tails program next year for the students with struggles reading. Should be interesting. The teacher who works with the kids is my pastors wife and my dear friend. Should get me in the door, eh? 😉

After 3 days of blissful sunshine, it is raining, and I woke up to the cheery sound of  rain dripping into my kool-aid smelling rain barrels.

I says to hubby; “can you hear it?” He says “what?” I says “the sound of liquid gold”. He just rolls his eyes at me. Ahh, love.

Oh yeah, I am now the proud owner of a compost bin!!!!! My hubby really does love me.

Gosh, all my stealth work is for naught, The Anti-christ  Queen  is going vegan.

I listen to Dave Ramsey on AM 630 KCIS ‘your christian inspiration station’ and he says there is a truly FREE credit report site that you can look at your credit, so I did. And I recommend it. It showed I had been on the radar since 1985 but it didn’t show my bankruptcy. hmmmm.

Anyhow, go here and check it out:

A friend of mine who is doing the Addictions study with us, just e-mailed me and asked me an interesting question, I wasn’t going to answer her because then I would have to think real hard, but instead dug into the brain cells for the answer.

Here is her question, my answer.

Q: Tell me something the Lord is teaching you about.

A: The Lord is always teaching patience.
With others, to love others even when they are stupid.
The Lord is teaching me I’m not in control.
And damn it, I wish I was, then again, I’m glad I’m not.
The Lord is teaching me we are responsible for our own sins and I can not take the guilt was someone else’s stuff on my shoulders, I have enough of my own.
The Lord is teaching me, I suck at being a good wife.
The Lord is teaching me my addictions still have a hold of me.
And He is the only one who can help me.

So, on that note, please comment and tell me what the Lord is teaching you right now.

Blessings, Kristina

PS; same said friend has a son who asked her if she got her diploma, she answered ‘No, But I got my GED’.

He says “Whats that, the Ghetto Education Degree?” (You rock, Samuel) 🙂

Luther on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences

As I took a fresh look at the 95 thesis, I thought I would post it for you also!

 Disputation of Doctor Martin Luther
on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences
by Dr. Martin Luther (1517)
Published in:
Works of Martin Luther:
Adolph Spaeth, L.D. Reed, Henry Eyster Jacobs, et Al., Trans. & Eds.
(Philadelphia: A. J. Holman Company, 1915), Vol.1, pp. 29-38

[10] [20] [30] [40] [50] [60] [70] [80] [90]

Out of love for the truth and the desire to bring it to light, the following propositions will be discussed at Wittenberg, under the presidency of the Reverend Father Martin Luther, Master of Arts and of Sacred Theology, and Lecturer in Ordinary on the same at that place. Wherefore he requests that those who are unable to be present and debate orally with us, may do so by letter.

In the Name our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

    1. Our Lord and Master Jesus Christ, when He said Poenitentiam agite, willed that the whole life of believers should be repentance.

    2. This word cannot be understood to mean sacramental penance, i.e., confession and satisfaction, which is administered by the priests.
    3. Yet it means not inward repentance only; nay, there is no inward repentance which does not outwardly work divers mortifications of the flesh.
    4. The penalty [of sin], therefore, continues so long as hatred of self continues; for this is the true inward repentance, and continues until our entrance into the kingdom of heaven.
    5. The pope does not intend to remit, and cannot remit any penalties other than those which he has imposed either by his own authority or by that of the Canons.
    6. The pope cannot remit any guilt, except by declaring that it has been remitted by God and by assenting to God’s remission; though, to be sure, he may grant remission in cases reserved to his judgment. If his right to grant remission in such cases were despised, the guilt would remain entirely unforgiven.
    7. God remits guilt to no one whom He does not, at the same time, humble in all things and bring into subjection to His vicar, the priest.8. The penitential canons are imposed only on the living, and, according to them, nothing should be imposed on the dying.9. Therefore the Holy Spirit in the pope is kind to us, because in his decrees he always makes exception of the article of death and of necessity.

    10. Ignorant and wicked are the doings of those priests who, in the case of the dying, reserve canonical penances for purgatory.

    11. This changing of the canonical penalty to the penalty of purgatory is quite evidently one of the tares that were sown while the bishops slept.

    12. In former times the canonical penalties were imposed not after, but before absolution, as tests of true contrition.

Fun With Fetal Pigs ~ High School Style

Thought that title might catch your eye….

My son is doing fetal pig dissection in school. My opinion is extremely varied on this subject. But I  really want to educate the students on where the ‘specimens’ come from.

The students are having great conversations  about the specimens and where they come from. Most think the poor little animals just die from natural causes and get shipped nice and tidy to their classroom.

So off to the internet I went to find some info.

(My son is old enough to make his own choice about whether he would like to participate. I dissected a sheeps eyeball when I was a kid)

But I think with that education should come the other education about where these animals come from and how they get from there to here. Hopefully since they are curious about it, it will help to make them think about where stuff comes from and can make healthy choices about, well, just about everything when they grow up.

Here is the word doc. I have sent it the teacher, the teacher and principal are looking it over now.

Frequently asked questions about dissection from the Humane Society

Carolina Biological Supply (this is the company the school gets the specimens from)
It is hard to find a site that does not include instructions on alternatives to dissection and the steps to go about it with the school.  I apologize in advance.
I just want the kids to be informed about this procedure if they are interested.

I do not condone them doing anything against school policy.
Questions? you call e-mail me or call me; Kristina P****

So there it is, I added the supply companies that sell to schools so the kids could see what else they had to offer.
My son knows this is available on this blog, so if the students are really curious they can come here, I know quite a few of them read the blog.
Does the bible have anything about animal dissection in it?
Anything about breeding, raising, killing animals for scientific purposes?
For all we do, do it for the glory of Him who made us. (Would God approve?)

 Blessings, Kristina

(Tomorrow I get to attend a field trip with the high school class to the zoo. My son, being just generally embarrassed by his mother, is even more worried I’m going to try to set all the animals free. 🙂 )

Is it horrible to say that I love torturing my son. It’s not really his fault my mother tortured me as a child, why should I take it out on him?

Because I can 😉
