Pledge-a-Picketer @ Planned Parenthood {?}

*I drive by the local Planned Parenthood twice a week now after son gets his allergy shot.

I saw a banner hanging up on the bldg and looked online to see what it was all about.

On the website I saw this statement:

Planned Parenthood of Western Washington commemorates Roe vs. Wade and celebrates our freedom of choice.  35 Years ago this month, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a woman may choose to have an abortion during the first six months of pregnancy.  During this anniversary, the far Right is trying to press their morals, question our values, and put Planned Parenthood out of business.  The Right is WRONG.  You can fight the Right with a donation to help make every child a wanted child.

The words in red I highlighted. The first six months, how on this Gods green earth could they think a six month old BABY is just TISSUE!!!!!!!!

This is what the banner is about:

Let’s Make Protesters Work for Us!

THANK YOU!  In 2007, you helped us raise $20,630!  Let’s see what the protesters can do for us in 2008!

Last year, we saw a steep increase in the number of protesters at our health centers. In a misguided attempt to scare people out of getting the services they need, these protesters carry disturbing signs, hand out misleading information, and harass people as they enter our health centers.

A group called “40 Days for Life” held a round-the-clock protest at at least 5 of our health centers for 40 days. These protesters’ goals were to incite fear, gain attention for their hateful point of view, and intimidate our patients and staff. They wanted to shut us down – but we didn’t let them.

With YOUR HELP we raised over $20,000!  YOU came out and supported our health centers and staff!  YOU showed them that Planned Parenthood is a vital part of your community.
The protesters are not going to stop and we aren’t either!

Pledge-a-Picketer to help us raise money! We’ll let the protesters know how much money they’ve raised.  Banners promoting donation totals will be posted outside all affected health centers.
Join us today and help send a message to the protesters that Planned Parenthood is loved and supported in their community

Wow, all I can say is wow.

Pregnancy Month by Month – Month 6

The tender skin of the baby is now covered by a waxy substance called “vernix” and the baby start to continue to practice breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid in preparation for the big day when she takes her first breath of air. Her eyes begin to part and open occasionally for short periods of time. Hiccups are no uncommon. You must know that :
The baby in the fetal stage constantly learns and after birth the baby prefers the mother’s voice because she has been listening to mom filtered through the amniotic fluid. She sounded a bit like a fuzzy guitar

  1. When does the Bible teach Adam became a living soul–when God was forming him from the dust of the ground or when he took his first breath?

In the same way most states use the same standard to determine whether a fetus is a live birth or stillborn.

The scriptures above do mention we get formed in the womb, but have no bearing on when life begins. This is especially true for scriptures like Jeremiah 1:5 where, if we were to take it literally, teaches Jeremiah was called by God BEFORE he was formed in the womb.

When John the Baptist leaped in Elizabeth’s womb Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, not John.

There is much room for teaching (even biblically) that a fetus becomes a living baby when it takes its first breath, not when it is conceived.

    Having said that…

I have been amazed at a couple things in the pro-choice, pro-life debate.

I have been amazed at the number of pro-lifers who use abusive tactics trying to make their point.

I have been amazed at some of the leaders of the pro-choice movement who see abortion as a rite of passage.

  2. I don’t want to *not* reply to your post, but I don’t even know where to begin. I think “wow” is a good place to start. Psalm 3 just came to mind… I’ve been thinking & praying a lot about this issue lately. There is blessing promised (not that it’s about “getting blessing”) to the defender of the widow and the orphan. Scripture calls that “true religion.” It also defines true widowhood, I realize, and this doesn’t technically apply in that context, but Christ would certainly still offer–did offer–mercy and life to these broken, hurting women, and the church needs to be following His lead. It’s struck me lately that just being strongly ideologically opposed to evil does not fulfill my duty to stand for justice and to offer mercy. So. Thinking, thinking…

    Thanks for the post.
~~wow, good comment, yeah, my point in posting was, we are really just using our energy for the wrong purpose, we, as christians, need to be concentrating on the girls who visit PP and helping them in the aftermath of such decision. Not agruing and being nasty with each other. and pro-choice and pro-life both think they are right and doing the women the most amount of good, but Jesus is the most amount of good.
