Pledge-a-Picketer @ Planned Parenthood {?}

*I drive by the local Planned Parenthood twice a week now after son gets his allergy shot.

I saw a banner hanging up on the bldg and looked online to see what it was all about.

On the website I saw this statement:

Planned Parenthood of Western Washington commemorates Roe vs. Wade and celebrates our freedom of choice.  35 Years ago this month, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a woman may choose to have an abortion during the first six months of pregnancy.  During this anniversary, the far Right is trying to press their morals, question our values, and put Planned Parenthood out of business.  The Right is WRONG.  You can fight the Right with a donation to help make every child a wanted child.

The words in red I highlighted. The first six months, how on this Gods green earth could they think a six month old BABY is just TISSUE!!!!!!!!

This is what the banner is about:

Let’s Make Protesters Work for Us!

THANK YOU!  In 2007, you helped us raise $20,630!  Let’s see what the protesters can do for us in 2008!

Last year, we saw a steep increase in the number of protesters at our health centers. In a misguided attempt to scare people out of getting the services they need, these protesters carry disturbing signs, hand out misleading information, and harass people as they enter our health centers.

A group called “40 Days for Life” held a round-the-clock protest at at least 5 of our health centers for 40 days. These protesters’ goals were to incite fear, gain attention for their hateful point of view, and intimidate our patients and staff. They wanted to shut us down – but we didn’t let them.

With YOUR HELP we raised over $20,000!  YOU came out and supported our health centers and staff!  YOU showed them that Planned Parenthood is a vital part of your community.
The protesters are not going to stop and we aren’t either!

Pledge-a-Picketer to help us raise money! We’ll let the protesters know how much money they’ve raised.  Banners promoting donation totals will be posted outside all affected health centers.
Join us today and help send a message to the protesters that Planned Parenthood is loved and supported in their community

Wow, all I can say is wow.

Pregnancy Month by Month – Month 6

The tender skin of the baby is now covered by a waxy substance called “vernix” and the baby start to continue to practice breathing by inhaling amniotic fluid in preparation for the big day when she takes her first breath of air. Her eyes begin to part and open occasionally for short periods of time. Hiccups are no uncommon. You must know that :
The baby in the fetal stage constantly learns and after birth the baby prefers the mother’s voice because she has been listening to mom filtered through the amniotic fluid. She sounded a bit like a fuzzy guitar

Musings on….Romans 1 ~ Can we know God w/out Bible?

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

So, Can this mean we can know God without the bible? This passage to me is specific in talking about a certain type of person behaving a certain way….

Is there any other passages that state we can know God without the help of the bible? or any other writing?

Maybe we can know there is a God, but what about Jesus and his life on earth?

Am I staking too much on a book?

I can know the presence of God in my life, but how can I articulate it to others?

How can I tell/remember to tell others in the future about what went on in my life without a book or words written down?

Didn’t the writers of the bible just write down what they experienced? But the amazing thing is they experienced God and Jesus?

Help, Kristina

Is Ezekiel 28 talking about a human leader (king) of Tyre verse 2, 11 or Satan:

Romans 8 ~ Unanswerable Questions?

I typed up the below a few days ago, but today as I sat at bible study I was thinking:

What, in my life, shall separate me from the love of Christ?

Will Anna Bella’s cancer fight?

Will trips away from the safety and comfort of my home?

Will construction and breakage of my home?

Will son’s allergies and shot schedule?

Will my health related and mental health related issues?

Nope, none of these will separate me from my Lord.

Will I get thru these things? Yes, with the Lord’s help and strength.

Do any of these things matter in the big picture of my life and my eternal place with Christ?

Yes and no.

No, because they are just a season to get thru. They are temporary and of this world. No, because I am never separated from Him and what else is there?

Yes, because I am called to endure all things and cling to God to help me get thru all these things.

PS: Anna Bella is scheduled for an ultrasound next Tuesday. I found another lump on her last night.

This weekend we are heading to a youth snow camp retreat with 6 kids from church. Out of my comfort zone, to say the least.

Pray for me 🙂

Romans 8: 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

Lets try to answer these questions:

1. If God is for us, who can be against us?

2. He who did not spare His own son… how will he not also graciously give us all things?

3. Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?

4. Who is he that condemns? (when Christ is interceding for us)

5. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Our pastor thinks these are unanswerable questions.

I think they are answerable, but the answer is always…..

Check back for the answer…..

Until then, give it a shot, leave a comment give an answer for your faith.

National Sanctity of Human Life Day 2008

As usual, I’m a day behind all the news, because I don’t watch the boob tube or get to the paper until the next day.

But from this site;

National Sanctity of Human Life Day, 2008
A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America

On National Sanctity of Human Life Day, we recognize that each life has inherent dignity and matchless value, and we reaffirm our steadfast determination to defend the weakest and most vulnerable members of our society.

America was founded on the belief that all men are created equal and have an inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and our country remains committed to upholding that founding principle. Since taking office, I have signed legislation to help protect life at all stages, and my Administration will continue to encourage adoption, fund abstinence education and crisis pregnancy programs, and support faith-based groups. Today, as our society searches for new ways to ease human suffering, we must pursue the possibilities of science in a manner that respects the sacred gift of life and upholds our moral values.

Our Nation has made progress in its efforts to protect human life, and we will strive to change hearts and minds with compassion and decency. On National Sanctity of Human Life Day and throughout the year, we help strengthen the culture of life in America and work for the day when every child is welcomed in life and protected in law.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim Sunday, January 20, 2008, as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. I call upon all Americans to recognize this day with appropriate ceremonies and to underscore our commitment to respecting and protecting the life and dignity of every human being.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand eight, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-second.

(before you all get crazy on the old Bushster, every president does that)

The World according to Bruce had a good post, 3 parts

Capital Hill Daily Brief, another good article

Care net, Crisis pregnancy centers, also have bible studies for post abortion trauma

Healing Hearts. org, help for women (and men) suffering from post abortion trauma

just thought I’d share.

Dear Father, encourager,Encourage our hearts and knit them together in love with the heart of Jesus and the hearts of every other child of yours!

Give us all the riches of knowing and understanding of what you had formerly kept secret, the Good News about Jesus Christ, for in him you have hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Give us firm assurance in him.

Whatever new dimension or unfolding of your grace that shall come, it will be, I am convinced, a disclosure of the good things originally hidden in Christ. Help us to know it when we see it.

In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
