Heart to Heart Books ~ FREE Book Giveaway

Standard

So, on the heel of yesterdays book review post, we are going to give away some books! {When I say we, I mean, I’m going to give them away and hubby is paying for postage!} 🙂

Please do a book review with me!

I ordered these books written by our very own Douglas Monk who shares a blog on WordPress.

See his blog here. Here is a good post on how to do a book review

He asked if I would read and review his books, seen above, and link to Xulon Press if you were interested in buying them.

There is a little synopsis of his books on that link.

Book Summary

The writer of Hebrews encouraged us to “consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.” (Chapter 10:24 ESV) This book is a collection of letters (or musings) written to do just that. (Stir you up!) Whether you are an older Christian wanting to rekindle the fire, or a new believer looking for practical ways to live out your faith, Heart To Heart Volume #1 was written just for you.

Author Profile

 Douglas Monk and his wife Micaela live on an acreage in the Midwest. In addition to writing, Doug spends his time as a general contractor, home educator, and Cell Group leader. In his free time, Doug likes to read, work in their apple orchard and ride his Suzuki 800. Eventually he and Micaela would like to open a bed and breakfast.
Funny story behind these books, I ordered them and they never came, I kept checking the tracking number at the usps.com site and they were forever in Federal Way {a town up north from us about 20 miles or so]

I had been checking the status of these books for at least 3 weeks, then they somehow end up in Alaska!

I didn’t think I was ever getting them,  so the nice folks at Xulon Press, sent me 2 more books, brought by UPS.

{I’m sure that came right out of Doug’s’ profits, sorry!}

The books from the post office got here on Tuesday, the ones from the brown guys got here on Thursday of last week.

So I’m offering up one of these books for someone who likes to read and will review them on their blog and link to the publishing company for purchase. I have 2 books, so 2 winners!

Leave a comment, I will use the random number generator, if I receive more than 2 requests.

I will leave comments open for a week.

Rules:

1. read the book

2. review the book on your blog {if you don’t have a blog, you can type me up a review and I will put it here}

3. link to Doug and Publishing Co.

4. Just let me know when you read it!

USA residents only, please. Thanks for participating!

Oh Yeah and I will post a review when I get done with my copy.

Stuart also received a book for his viewing pleasure, so I look forward to seeing your reviews!

1 Thess 5:12Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.  16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.     19Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; 20do not treat prophecies with contempt. 21Test everything. Hold on to the good. 22Avoid every kind of evil.     23May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.     25Brothers, pray for us. 26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss. 27I charge you before the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.     28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

Dear Father,

You have called me to your kingdom and glory! Help me to live a life worthy of the calling I have received from you.

Help me live the same life style that King Jesus lived. Let me live with humility and submission, with patience.

Help me to forbear others out of love for them.

Help me to be eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit.

Help me to be bound to my brothers and sisters in peace.

By Jesus’ authority and in his name I boldly come to you, asking all this. Amen.
