Foot Update, Good News ~ Bad News

It was the heal bone and the green line is where the break is.

It hasn’t moved, but needless to say, the doctor was pissed.

I think she thinks I’m crazy.

She said it hadn’t healed as much as she would have liked but, it didn’t move.

It needs to stay immobile for 2 more weeks.

The way the foot works, if I tried to walk on it, it could push on the broken part and displace it.

So, no pressure on it, the foot stays in the boot {I got a new boot also}

Even in the shower and at bedtime.

If the bone gets displaced, the surgery would include inserting a wire and another cast.

Not gonna happen.

So keep reminding me not to put any weight on it.

I’m gonna go lay down and knit, I’m tired.

Blessings, Kristina

Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have
done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole
creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life,
and for the mystery of love.
We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for
the loving care which surrounds us on every side.
We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best
efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy
and delight us.

We thank you also for those disappointments and failures
that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.

Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the
truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast
obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying,
through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life
again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom.

Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know him and
make him known; and through him, at all times and in all
places, may give thanks to you in all things. Amen.

  1. Kristina- I bet your doctor was pissed, they don’t usually care for patients cutting off there own casts!!!
thank you kelly, every couple of days just e-mail me this statement! xoxo

  2. For the love of pete stay off your foot….and off of non adult toys!!!

I wonder if taking calcium would help the bone heel???? Wouldn’t hurt would it?

before anyone thinks weird of this comment, my son broke my leg about 4 years ago, on mothers day, on a scooter, i was riding, he was pushing, and i fell and heard the little bone in my leg ‘snap’. 3. RE: Showers

When I was unable to put any weight on either foot we were going to buy one of those custom seats for the shower, but found out one of our cheap resin chairs fit perfectly into the tub.

    Just a thought.

Sorry you’re going to be immobile for two more weeks–can we expect an expanded outpouring of wisdom on your blog since you have so much more time to write?
I have a shower seat, it works great, the doc said even wear the brace in the shower, prettied up with a garbage bag. i have a few posts in draft waiting for your perusal on words like atonement, propitiation, imputed, etc. My brain is kind of fried, its either becuz of reading the first 6 chapters of Daniel or not being in the sun getting vitamin D

  4. Oh dear…I’m sure she was pissed…most doctors are when patients don’t follow orders 😉 Now, I would think you would be able to stay off it for two weeks…since it shouldn’t itch anymore with that nasty cast off!!!! 😀

  5. Hey now, she didn’t break the doctor’s orders. Not once did she tell her not to cut the cast off! 😉

    Which probably says something…
