Remember This?

Standard

Son and I watched Robocop last night, whoa, I had forgotten how violent and potty mouth it was.

We also rented on Netflix, Wonder Woman, Hunter, Cagney and Lacey, Rockford Files, Chips, Teen Titans and Odd Couple TV series plus the new TMNTurtles movie.

My son asked what her super powers were, I told him, Dude, she had this rope of truth and the wristlet that deflected bullets and the freaking invisible plane! She was an Amazon Princess!

And he says, ok, but what was her power?

kids these days…….jeez

{and hello, back in the day, the girls all wanted to look like her, and the boys would not have minded the rope of truth wrapped around them}

Subject change:

I changed the theme, I like it, breaks up the all-white appearance.

I had a dream last night I was walking at the ocean. Walking, with no crutches!

It was wonderful…*sigh*

My boy left on an high school retreat today until tomorrow afternoon.

I always miss him so, and worry until he is back to me , safe and sound.

I guess it’s a mom thing. Or a control thing. Cuz I love being in control. I always think, yeah I can give stuff up to God, sure, I know He is in control. You got it, God. Take it from me, yeah yeah.

Well, it’s His great pleasure to bring to mind ALL the things I still like to keep in my ‘control’ backpack.

A few things here:

1. My son (and hubby) are only safe when they are with me

2. I am the only one who knows how to clean the house properly and if the house is clean then I’m doing my job right

3. I drive my car better than anyone else and obey the traffic laws 😉

4. I am the only one who can work the computer properly

5. These boys would NOT be able able to live without me….

6. If I’m working, which it seems I always am, then everyone else in the house needs to be working….

7. If I am angry or stay angry, I’m in control. {which is pretty stupid, by the way, because when you are mad at someone, they control you}

8. If I don’t stray out of my comfort zone, I’m safe [obviously that doesn’t work, I was in my living room, with all my favorite, familiar people, and my foot broke]

9. If I do what I think is expected of me, in everyday living, then all is well with my soul and the world.

Silly, silly me.

I’m sure there is much more, but God, in His time, will reveal them to me.

What are some the things you like to keep in your control backpack?

I’m off to work-out, I took last week off, and now I’m back in the saddle, at least from the abs up.

Tomorrow is the big doctor appt. day, pray for healing!!!

Blessings, The Home Engineer

Titus 3:1-3

Dear Father,

Help me to have respect for rulers and authorities, to be submissive and obedient.

Help me to be ready for any honest work, and to speak evil of no one.

Help me to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy to every one.

Help me not to be foolish, disobedient, or led astray. Help me not to be a slave to various passions and pleasures, or to pass my days in malice or envy, hating others or being hated by them.

In the name of Jesus, the all-wise and blessed Savior. Amen.

  1. Cool theme. I think I like it!

Have you seen what my blog is worth? You’ll get a kick out of it. Check out the right hand column at the bottom of Whore Church’s main page.

  2. I always loved the pinball one. I still sing it (or something similar to the verly last phrase) to my kids. You can’t forget the C is for cookie song though.

i watch sesame street when im downstairs exercising, and love the cookie song and super grover and rubber ducky [they actually had a rap sort of rubber ducky song, that ruins it, i tell ya] Elmo kind of annoys me. My favorite still after all these years is oscar the grouch.
