As Heard on Radio….

As heard on the radio this morning:

“Whenever you’re in Gods will, its worship”

Ex 3:12And He said, “Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain.”

De 6:13“You shall fear {only} the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name.

De 26:10‘Now behold, I have brought the first of the produce of the ground which You, O LORD have given me.’ And you shall set it down before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God;

1Sa 15:30Then he said, “I have sinned; {but} please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and go back with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.”

Ps 99:5Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He.

 Ps 99:9Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His holy hill, For holy is the LORD our God.

Mt 4:10Then Jesus *said to him, “Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’ ”

Lu 4:8Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’ ”

Joh 4:24God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Ro 12:1Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, {which is} your spiritual service of worship.

1Co 14:25the secrets of his heart are disclosed; and so he will fall on his face and worship God, declaring that God is certainly among you. Php 3:3for we are the {true} circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh,

Re 14:7and he said with a loud voice, “Fear God, and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters.”

Re 19:10Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he *said to me, “Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Re 22:9But he *said to me, “Do not do that. I am a fellow servant of yours and of your brethren the prophets and of those who heed the words of this book. Worship God.”

Ex 34:14–for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God–

  1. I recently heard a sermon on worship.
    Voddie used the following Psalm as one of his proofs. He would argue that true worship is either praising God for who he is or what he has done.

    I think that obedience can be an act of worship (tithing for example). I don’t know if obedience (that is how I read being in God’s will) is always worship, sometimes isn’t it just our duty and our calling. If I obey in body but my heart greatly desires to sin is that worship?

    Psalm 96
    1 Sing to the LORD a new song;
    sing to the LORD, all the earth.

    2 Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
    proclaim his salvation day after day.

    3 Declare his glory among the nations,
    his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

    4 For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise;
    he is to be feared above all gods.

    5 For all the gods of the nations are idols,
    but the LORD made the heavens.

    6 Splendor and majesty are before him;
    strength and glory are in his sanctuary.

    7 Ascribe to the LORD, O families of nations,
    ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

    8 Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
    bring an offering and come into his courts.

    9 Worship the LORD in the splendor of his [a] holiness;
    tremble before him, all the earth.

    10 Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns.”
    The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved;
    he will judge the peoples with equity.

    11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
    let the sea resound, and all that is in it;

    12 let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
    Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;

    13 they will sing before the LORD, for he comes,
    he comes to judge the earth.
    He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples in his truth.
