Yeah, It’s Friday…New Hot Tamale ~ ICE!

Standard

When we got Anna from the Humane Society, she didn’t really act like a dog, didn’t fetch or play with toys or chew on anything. It’s like we had to teach her to do those things. She loves her bones now and carries them to whatever room we are in and plops herself down with it and chews.

See the stack of toys behind her? That’s the supply of stuffed animals she runs after and kills, we buy them at the thrift store and wash them, then let her tear into them until the stuffing is everywhere. She is neat and tidy, tho. She will pull the stuffing out, lay it aside and pull more out.

I went to the doctor today convinced I was having an appendicitis attack.

But it looks like it may be scar tissue problems. From when I got my uterus and ovaries ripped out a few years ago.  I was hoping it was something easy like my appendix, then I could get it ripped out and be done with it.

Eh, I’m still hopeful. Maybe a trip to the emergency room will be in order.

My doctor gave me some knee exercises cuz my joints/tendons hurts. So do my elbows when I tricep press too much weight.

Maybe I’m just old.

I was looking through my last batch of thrift store bought bibles, it was a good batch by the way, and found this card with this ‘poem’ on it.

Thought I would share…

Life’s Weaving

My Life is but a weaving
Between my God and me;
I may not choose the colors,
He knows what they should be

For He can view the rainbow
Upon the upper side,
While I can see it only
On this, the under side.

Sometimes He weaves sorrow,
Which seems strange to me;
But I will trust His judgment,
And work on faithfully;

At last, when life is ended,
With Him I shall abide,
then I may view the rainbow
Upon the upper side;

Then I shall know the reason
Why pain with joy entwined,
Was woven in the fabric
Of life that God designed.

Today the boy and hubby have the day off, so we are out looking for a kitchen table and chairs and maybe a computer.

I scored big time and acquired (from my Hero) a Microsoft Office Pro 2007 at a rock bottom low price. Not sure how old my computer is, but it’s running slow, the DVD doesn’t work…

(I’m also running an ‘inauthentic’ version of office on my computer)

Bad Christian! Shh, don’t tell anyone.

Back to the computer, I really don’t know what I can do for it, done all the maintenance stuff on it and am thinking of reformatting….

Then Saturday we are off to Ikea for a bed frame and the Boeing surplus store.

Hubby works at Boeing and the surplus store rocks! Like a huge thrift store, maybe I could even get a computer there.

Anyway, what are you guys doing this weekend? Anything fabulous?

God’s Peace to you and yours this weekend, Enjoy!

Kristina

Oh get this, I catch my boy yesterday, writing a note to a girl with this scripture on it!

Songs of Solomon 7

7 Your stature is like that of the palm,
and your breasts like clusters of fruit.

    8 I said, “I will climb the palm tree;
I will take hold of its fruit.”
May your breasts be like the clusters of the vine,
the fragrance of your breath like apples,

It seems my boy was looking up ‘beauty’ in the concordance, like a good little bible study boy, and found this and started a note with it.

His teacher was making a point in class one day, if the boys had to hide the relationship with their parents, or didn’t tell them if they liked someone, then it probably wasn’t a good thing. I’m paraphrasing here.

So now that my boy’s mother and this girl’s mother know they like each other and they write notes to each other BUT nothing innappropriate is going on, they feel free to write on and hang out at lunch.

(but cannot date until 32 and 35 years old respectively) 🙂

Back to the scripture, I explained to my little boy that while looking up words and quoting scripture was fine and all, he should probably read Solomons song IN CONTEXT, to really know what is being said there.

Well, he kinda got grossed out when he looked at some of it and found out the background.

See, he was grossed out, another good reason why dating should not occur until he is 35.

So, scripture got ripped up and teacher got an e-mail today from my son’s mom. I asked her if she would just like to rip my heart out now instead of giving speeches to teenage boys. I have yet to hear back from her (Don’t worry, we’re friends, I heard she laughed when she read it) 🙂

  1. I wouldn’t eat anything that comes out of a hot tamale butt. No matter how “minty fresh” it tastes.

    You better teach him the context of Galatians 5:2 as well.

    SoS…Bible Erotica. I have heard preachers try to make it all about the relationship between Christ and the church, and some modern Jews see it as a picture of God’s love for Israel, but for most of the last 4,000 years it has been treated as a man’s love for his bride and his bride’s love for him.

    Which I think is pretty cool.

  2. It doesn’t seem like it’s been that long. But your boy (I figure you leave his real name out for a reason, so I won’t blab) + love notes does not compute with how I think of him in my mind. But I suppose you probably thought of my oldest boy as a 1 month old baby until you saw him again a few months back. 😉

  3. I just noticed the verse on your header. A lady at church calls that her “recipe for life.” And I do believe she actually does it. I’ve tried it for a couple of minutes or so, and it’s the best place on earth to be. But (because I’m foolish and selfish) I keep having to hit reset on the “always” and “continually” part.

  4. Kevin, nothing serious here, the scar tissue theory is an interesting one, the tissue will attach itself to anything in my body, so say if it attaches to my intestines or colon, it could irritate it. I know, too much info. 🙂

    Jason, no reason for the no-name calling, i just like saying the boy and the hubby. Yeah, Jesse is 14, huge, tall as me, stinky, zit faced, writing love notes and sitting with girls at lunch, oh how the time flies! Your boys are adorable, stop and breathe in every second with them, literally, absorb all their wonderful child goodness, love on them, smell them, record everything they do, tell them you love every minute, while you can, they grow so fast.

    Ash, obviously he needs lots of context, cuz most of the time, he is dreaming about wishy washy ‘i like a girl’ crap.
    I love that verse, i try to live by that verse, actually my goal would be to try to live by that verse, and i too get moments of getting it right, but not often.

  5. Ugh, scar tissue doesn’t sound interesting to me, but I’m glad you found it interesting. I’ll be praying for your recovery from this crap in your colon. (Get it, “crap in your colon”? Yeah, that’s good comedy.)

  6. Kris, I think I may have a better diagnosis for your pain. Stay with me here…a friend of mine got this nasty flu a couple weeks ago and it almost put him in the hospital with dehydration. Supposedly it’s really nasty stuff.

    Anyway, his wife caught it too, but didn’t have the vomiting, diarrhea, etc. What she did have was some dizziness and severe pain in her right side just below her rib cage.

    How did I find all this out? Cause last night my redhead and I were debating whether or not I should go to the emergency room. I had/still have pretty strong pain in my side and a slight fever.

    Wondering if it was a flu bug, gas or appendicitis I called today and my friend gave me the details. So maybe you picked up a similar bug. Who knows? Just a thought.

  7. did she/you have a fever?
    Cuz i didnt, but i felt a little dizzy and tired and no energy and pain in right side, lower than rib cage, more by my hip.
    does it hurt to push on it?
    you gave me that bug from all the way over there.
    Thats weird stuff, but it a good explanatnion of all this. (means it won’t kill me and will go away)
    Witht he scar tissue theory, it won’t go away 😦
    the pain is still there, but is getting better.
    Hope you are feeling better soon, also.

  8. Fever: Yes, about 100, but not enough to justify appendix stuff.

    Dizzy: yes

    Tired: Constantly – I laid down to take a nap on Sunday and slept for four hours. Slept almost all day Monday. I haven’t been tired today, but this is the first day since maybe Friday.

    Hurt to push: Some, but not a sharp pain like I would expect with an infection. I figured it was a pocket of gas or something so I took some gas medicine and did jumping jacks, etc. but it didn’t seem to make any difference.

    Ditto with me on the pain. It started last night and my redhead was pretty concerned, but today it is much better (though it did wake me early today and was enough I couldn’t sleep.)

    No fever today and I feel pretty good except for the pain.

    I agree with you that it’s weird. Do you think they’ll reference this thread on WebMD? We could be famous.

    And I didn’t give you any virus. You had it first, remember?
