Mom’s Secret Handbook Only $29.99

Standard

Today my son came walking downstairs while I was working out.
He is home sick today, snot nose, stuffy head. Blah feeling. Since his progress report was good, He can afford a few days rest.
He walked downstairs and I said, ”I dont think there is any more, you might have to drink my skim milk”
He looked at me with wide eyes and said ‘Are you psychic?”
(no, just psycho, but thats another story) 😉

Well, I’m a mom, and moms know things.
Moms have ways.
My son used to try to find the eyes in the back of my head when he was younger.
I have told him there is a parent handbook, he wants to see it, but I told him its top  secret and only moms can see it.
Dad have access to it, but they rarely read it.
I told him when he has his first kid the hospital will issue one to him and the extra set of  eyes also.
I told him parenting is an important job and he is not to take it lightly.
He still is in amazement how his momma knows things.
He still thinks I’m smart. And funny. And pretty. And I still have the best lap for when he is sick.
When he was little he had lots of ear infections and I would hold him on my lap and tell him, if I could I would take your sickness from you.
Last night as his huge lanky teenage 121 lb body is trying to get comfortable on me in our bed,  he asked me if I remembered saying that to him. I said Yep. He said ‘do you still mean it?’
I said, Heck no, I can’t get sick around here, I gotta take care of you and your sick dad!!! ;0
Then I said, of course I would take your sickness, I love you and don’t ever want anything bad to happen to you.

(the scary thing, I know bad things will happen to him, its part of life and part of sanctification, but oh how I pray that we both make it thru OK)
He is such a good kid and still has such a tender heart. When people comment on that, I just say, It’s all God.
I’m trying my darnest to screw him up, and Thank God He is there to fix it!
Got any good momma secrets to share?
Please leave a comment.
Blessings on your day!
