Life as I Know It

Testimonies for the most part are wack. Not the stories themselves but the outrageous emphasis other people put on them.

The stories are an awesome example of how God can take people out of the mire and back to the land of the living.

People are made new thru the blood of Christ.

Our lives are our experiences. Our past makes up our belief system.

All kinds of different people from different backgrounds make up the church family.

I have written my testimony or ‘life as i know it’. Its on a separate page, so if you would like to read it, great! Click on the tab up there by the adorable kitties that says “life as I have known it”

If you don’t want to read it, great!

The reasoning behind this entry is sort of a rant.

Recently I have seen examples of people not wanting to associate with people who are not like them.

Not dressed as well as them, not living in a house as big as their own, not living life like they are or as they think they should.

People who are caught ‘in the middle’ of something.

Caught in the middle of sin, looking a little worse for wear, struggling with sin, finances, health, whatever.

It’s no secret why we look at people like that with disdain.

Some reasons:

We don’t want to be like them.

We know, in a blink of an eye, we could be like them.

We were once like them.

They bring a bad name to the church, to Christ. They don’t belong here, we can’t get more members with people like THAT hanging around here.

Most followers of Christ know that while He was on earth, he hung out with the dregs of society and

we all know the verses and stories that go along with it.

Luke 19:1-10

Zep 3:12 – “But I will leave among you A humble and lowly people, And they will take refuge in the name of the LORD.
Ro 12:16 – Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Lu 7:22 – And He answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: {the} BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT, {the} lame walk, {the} lepers are cleansed, and {the} deaf hear, {the} dead are raised up, {the} POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM.
Lu 14:13 -“But when you give a reception, invite {the} poor, {the} crippled, {the} lame, {the} blind,
Mr 2:17 – And hearing {this,} Jesus *said to them, “{It is} not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

But I want people to know, with my little story, I was once like them, (the misfits) could still be like them, am like them. Do they want me out?

If they knew all my dirty little secrets would they look differently at me?

What would happen if their dirty little secrets got out? Would others think less of them?

I wouldnt, I would love and admire them even more.

Just as I need to love and admire and help those who aren’t looking just like me, in the same place in life as me, dealing with big and little sins, just like me.

And we need to pray, pray to take away these feelings, thoughts, and to love each other, all of the  each others, as ourselves. As God loves them and is working out their salvation and sanctification. To His glory.

Hmm…roses taking credit for being roses. Roses draw blood. I’ve never seen a dandelion draw blood. That is why both we roses and dandelions need a savior.
