My Body For Life results came back today.
I am a Finisher! 😀
I received a certificate and a rubber bracelet, red with the words Body-for-life on it.
I feel bummed I didn’t win the Grand Prize, but hey, I didn’t win anything worldly but I am happy I did regain my health, a little better attitude, some sweet gym equipment and better fitting clothes. I am also hoping I can eliminate or hold back the hands of time. In my family we have lots of muscle/body/joint aches, poor health, poor eating habits, maybe even some MS. I would like to stave that off as long as possible.
My justification for doing the BFL program, was and still is, my body is a temple of God, for God, so I should keep it as healthy as possible so that I can be of good service to the rest of the body of Christ in this world while I’m here. Maybe even inspire someone else to get fit. I do pray that my weightlifting and eating choices do not become an idol to me, put before my God.
I weightlift/exercise in the morning, as not to interfere with family time in the evening, and try not to harp on others when they don’t eat right. (Except my hubby) I don’t try to wear revealing un-modest clothes to tempt other eyes. There was even a bit of a ruckus about me taking a before and after picture for the official BFL contest. (it was in a bathing suit) Now after I have said all that, I have some bragging to do:
Weight: 166 to 144
Fat percentage: 32% to 15%
Gained 6 lbs of muscle
size 12 to 8 pants
Cholesterol Total: 216 to 132 should be <200
triglycerides: 209 to 73 should be <150
HDL: 55 to 49 should be > or= 40
LDL: 119 to 68 should be <130
CHOL/HDLC ration: 3.9 to 2.7 should be<4.4
Now I’m doing a 6 month weightlifting program from this book Men’s Health: The Book of Muscle–The World’s Most Complete Guide to Building Your Body
by Lou Schuler, Ian King
Ok, I really can’t take all the credit, my God gave me the strength and the tenacity to do it. 😮
2 “The LORD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will extol Him. Exodus 15:2
12 That {my} soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. Psalm 30:12
